CBT focuses on current thoughts/behaviours. Schema therapy digs into childhood patterns ("schemas") and uses extra tools like imagery and chair work. Often used when CBT alone isn't enough.
DBT and Schema Therapy both have strong evidence. DBT is more widely used; Schema Therapy is also very effective long-term.
DBT is not designed for it. Emotion-regulation and mindfulness skills can help a bit, but ADHD-specific treatment (coaching, ADHD-focused CBT, medication) works better for focus/attention.
It is helpful, especially if depression comes with intense emotions or self-harm. For plain depression, standard CBT is usually the first choice.
